The trip to Baghdad - April 20-21

The first Iraqis we saw after crossing the border. We had to drive in the left lane to avoid hitting the civilians running out to us. The median dividers were stripped from the highway in Southern Iraq. A dust storm. A herd of camels along the highway. An Iraqi village. Women carrying brush. Iraqis came out to line the road when we came by any settlement. Iraqi traffic laws apparently allow drivers to turn a two-lane road into a three or even four-lane highway as necessary. More traffic. The convoy in an Iraqi city A horse cart downtown. Stopping traffic in an Iraqi town. Sign to Baghdad. Burned out tank just south of Baghdad. An Iraqi howitzer in a neighborhood just south of Baghdad. Another abandoned tank. Friendly helicopters near FLA Dogwood. Sunset just outside Baghdad.

Life at FLA Dogwood - April 21-27 (Jump Teams), April 21-May 3 (Main Body)

FLA Dogwood. A particularly nice explosion by demolitions as they destroy Iraqi ammunition. Lisa Kies enjoying the show. Playing football.
