109th Medical Battalion Command Philosophy
LTC Mike Rogalla
It's all about people... Find the best and tell them why the
Iowa Army National Guard is where they should be today and tomorrow.
Keep your eye on the prize... Medical units are deployable
worldwide -- achievable through complete planning and practiced skills.
Stay in your lane... Use battle focus and make the most of
limited training time.
Look at the future in front of you... Develop your soldiers into
leaders.
If it's broke, those lives will never be saved... Preventive
maintenance will get you there, keep you there, and bring them back.
Express yourself... Identify problems, propose solutions, and
let the chain of command know.
Consensus is the absence of leadership... If you're in charge,
take the information at hand, use the guidance given to you, and make a
decision.
It's in the book... Tasks, condition, and standards -- use them
to attain excellence.
Respect youself and the others around you... The rank and
position the Army bestows upon you and all soldiers have true significance
and meaning -- give them their due.
You're not in this alone... Families and fellow soldiers make
the tough times bearable -- attend to their needs.
